For the last ten years, I have proudly served on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania. During this time, I have seen firsthand the invaluable work and services that this organization provides to its clients. Their work includes helping victims of domestic violence, assisting the elderly and disabled and generally providing education and legal representation to those in the greatest need.

In the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year, Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania enabled 752 people to obtain Protection From Abuse (PFA) orders. One of the people who benefited from a PFA order was Ms. G. Her husband beat her so badly that she had to be hospitalized as a result of her injuries. More importantly, this all took place with her young child watching. Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania was able to advocate for Ms. G and eventually helped her obtain a PFA against her husband, as well as sole custody of her son. This year, the Legal Services Corporation presented the President of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Mr. Ronald R. Bolig, Esquire, with its Pro Bono Service Award. Mr. Bolig has spent more than thirty years donating his time to low-income Pennsylvanians, along with many others who volunteer their time and services to this organization.
