$1.6 Million Verdict for Injured Construction Worker

A construction worker was left severely injured after the collapse of a building under construction.

An investigation into the incident showed that metal beam had been manufactured just two inches too short. Though nothing appeared wrong during the installation process, the shortrened beam balanced loads unevenly, and endangered the lives of the workers.

Schultz Law aggressively brought this case to trial against the beam manufacturer and won a significant verdict for our client. The defendants claimed that two inches was a minimal difference in the production of a 50 foot beam and not have caused such an accident. But expert testimony from structural engineering professionals proved that the design defect had indeed created an uneven load and that the manufacturer should have employed stricter product safety standards to avoid the incident.
